| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Pours a hazy dark golden color, cannot see through it. Small head but the color is nice enough. Aroma first hits you with a nice very lambic-like sourness, there is a nit of a soapiness (taking away a little bit from the beauty of this beer) bu then a nice smack of granny smith apple skins. Love the strains of Brett used here. Taste is sweet apple sourness with a light kick of acidity at the end of the flavor. Some tangerine flavor in there as well. Very nice, and as described this is a sour Belgian mimicking lambics. Easy drinking with a dryness lingering for a long while after each sip. 11.2oz bottle, St Paul snifter/tulip glass. Aroma was very floral, green apple, sour patch kids candy, tropical fruits, pear, brett. peach...bottom line I’m a fan of the aroma. Flavor was a funky tartness, sour candy, green apple, brett characteristics, dry, peach and some pineapple notes. Struise impresses yet again. alexsdad06 (1091), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2008 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small disappearing white head. The aroma is citrus with a lemon edge, pear, yeast, a little funk. The flavor is lemon citrus, sour apples and pears, general sour, brett, and yeast. I don’t get much malt from this. Lighter bodied. Interesting. ChainGangGuy (2590), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, copper body with a small, tight white head.
Smell: Aroma comprised of notes of wheat, bubble gum, sour lemons, grapes, and a pre-Spring Cleaning basement, with a light waft of young vinegar.
Taste: Distinct, mildly sweet flavor of grapeskin-flavored chewing gum. Splash of vinegar. Splash of acidic lemon juice. Slight mustiness throughout. Small showing of tangy wheat malt. It’s dry and tart, baby, for the crisp finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Lively carbonation.
Drinkability: I was pleasantly surprised. A well-balanced, fairly tasty "mild" sour. TheBeerGod (3163), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Bottle during Max’s 72 Hour Belgian Beer Fest. Can’t believe I got to have this! Hazy amber pour. Nose is very sour with tart fruits notes and funk. Tart fruits, funky yeast notes, damp wood, wet earth and faint cat urine. Some sweat as well. Taste was surprisingly gueuze-like at times. Body is dry, slightly acidic with some astringency. Ends with more tart fruit notes, damp basement, vinegar, and funky yeast. Surprised this isn’t listed as a sour ale because my bottle most certainly was. Delicious and a nice change of pace during the festival. I WANT MORE! Ando (105), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Hazy gold color with a small white head thats short lived, lacing is nil. Nose is tart with sour green apples, light funk, citrus, a hint of bananna. Body is light with an almost spritzy carbonation level. Mouth puckering tartness, lightly acidic. Flavors follow suit with the aroma though some leathery notes appear along with some grapefruit and some mustiness. Dry, tart finish. I cant believe you sour heads are.nt all over this brew!? Great palate cleanser not to mention enjoyable. Bottle purchased @statelineliquors. theisti (1680), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2008 330 ml bottle from tjthresh. Pour is hazed orange amber with fine carbonation and a 1/2 inch dirty white head. Aroma of tart sour citrus sweetness. I get strawberries too. Mostly the nose is about the wild yeasty sourness. After a bit, the strawberry turns to bubble gum. Taste is an all out acidic tart attack. Makes my mouth water a ton. Mid palate, this softens out a bunch into ripe pineapple tart sweetness. Not as much Brett in the taste, I am sure that will develop a bunch more. The carbonation is evident, very bubbly. The finish is more of the tart and very moist. Well executed beer, I enjoyed this a bunch. Thanks for sharing this Tom!
