Bottle: Poured a light copper color ale with a nice pure white fizzy head with exceptional retention and great lacing. Aroma is perfectly balance between some dry hops notes and some tart yeasty notes. Taste is really well balance between some tart notes with light sour notes and a dry European hops finish. Full body with limited filtration and great carbonation. I thought this was a perfect take on a Orval type of beer and resemble what I thought Ommegang Ommegeddon should have tasted like. Re-rate (two weeks after original rating): A lot more green apple taste then what I originally remember the beer to contains. Still very good and ratings stands.

11.2oz bottle. Pours clear orange-golden; the off-white head settles rapidly to a thin ring of bubbles.Very enticing aroma, with wild yeast, white grapes, sour apple, and citrus, especially lemon. Flavor is sweet and fairly citric; lemon is the dominant flavor, nicely complimented by wild yeast and mild acidity. Tartness is more pronounced as it warms. Long, green apple finish. Not as intense as some other Struise offerings, but I found this to be incredibly refreshing and very drinkable. I wish I had a case of this stashed away for the summer. Great stuff!
Addendum 3/12/09: I had this again yesterday, and enjoyed it even more. I bumped both the flavor and overall impression up by a point.
Addendum 9/9/09: I enjoy this more and more each time I try it...or maybe its getting better with age.

On tap at Struise farm. Deep lemon yellow coloured beer with fluffy snow white foam. Nose is very intens and complex. Lots of summer blossoms, wood twiggs, brett yeast and ripe lemons are detectable in the aroma. It has deeper fragances too, goats cheese, Alp barm, fresh grass, herbs and the skin of limes. Taste is interesting sour and so complex for a light body beer. Finale is very fine, interesting crisp, dry and so lemony. The perfect summer drink.

Bottle poured a clear gold with a small lasting creamy white head. Aromas of sour apple, vinegar, light barnyard and light leather. Palate was light bodied, crisp and tart with a dry finish. Flavors of applle, barnyard, lemon and light leather with a crisp dry lingering tart finish.

Bottle share at the Struise Farm with Urbain, Mesandsim and Duff. Clear gold, thick off white head. Lovely lambic/brett aroma. Lemon and touch of nettley hop on the aroma. The nettle is on the herby side. So drinkable, it’s unbelievable. Good carbonation. Lemon/lime aroma is gorgeous. It’s kind of like champagne in terms of the fruit and spritzy zing on the finish which is both the carbonation and the fruit. Zesty and would make a great aperatif.

smalll bottle: pours a cloudy light honey apple juice colour with a small white head that is lively and pretty. aroma is wonderful of honey and tart apple, fresh orchard bloosoms and small wafts of funk. almost perfect aroma. the flavour is bright adn cheerful with the tartness of unripe apples and good funky sour yeast. the finish is exceptional with a good tingle on the back palate and near perfect dryness. i love this beer.

Bottle. This beer is just amazing. Slightly hazy, gold/amber with a small white head. Leaves a little lacing and has nice small bubbles trickling up through the glass. At first this is cheesy on the nose, barnyard, then strawberries, tart, honeyish, a spicy kick. In flavor this is tart and sour, an impression of tart apples, and a spicy finish. Wonderful carbonation, perfect dry finish, just fantastic. Wow! The spicy vs. tart/sour on this was incredible. Big thanks to mcbackus for hooking me up with this!

330ml bottle pours nearly clear golden yellow. Straight brett and wood funk in the nose, no-nonsense, with a bit of honey scented clean malt. Prickly, sour, sweet, a wonderfully mixed flavor of lightly sweet grains and tart brett, with a clean presence throughout. Rich, sticky body, but not thick. I pick up some faded sweet red cherries at warmer temps, which is really quite nice. Very delicious overall. Very well made. Rerate knocks this up a bit... wonderfully prickly, sour, fresh, and vibrant. Loving it the more I drink it.
