On tap, part of the 10 beer sampler. Poured an amber color. You can definately taste the ginger which makes it stand out from the rest. Midly hoppy, but not enough to make it too bitter, A very nicely balanced beer.

On tap at Sudwerk. An example of a stand-out beer for uniqueness of flavor. The dragonfly lager has ginger added, which changes the flavor tremendously. Unfortunately, it doesn’t pair exactly with the brew. Very good though.

Draft at the brewpub. Aroma of caramel malt and something spicey. Nice amber color with a very decent white head. Thin to medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor? It’s got ginger. Zingy! Completely hides the noble hop (got a sample of the Helles, which the barstaffer said was the same recipe, except for the ginger and that had hop). Seems the ginger darkens the color a bit, and it certainly adds Zing! The finish is pretty dry, and the ginger hangs on. Maybe a little hop finally is detectable. Great refresher.

.3 L sample on tap at the brewpub. Spiced, ginger aroma with some mildly apple-like fruitiness in the nose. I also detect some floral aromas. Transparent orange body with a small, fleeting, off-white head. Some ginger, spicy flavoring to start, which becomes biscuity, doughy, and malty in the middle. Dry, spiced, ginger hoppy finish. Crisp, flavorful, and tasty.

Light brown with a lasting, but very coarse head. Aroma is medium-roasty malty with definite ginger, coming across as more of a picked ginger than fresh, but still nice. Not overwhelming at all and it integrates well with the maltiness. Flavor is spicy with some toasty malt notes. More ginger, probably overwhelming any mild hop flavors. I swear I get some cinnamon and allspice notes here as well, but I could be imagining it. Moderate bitterness, spicy finish. I love ginger, and I like this.
