Bottle: Cloudy straw pour with a frothy white head that vanishes almost instantly, this is an okay hefeweizen. The aroma is almost sourly tart, banana with a definite lemon twist. It has a more robust, spritzier mouthfeel than I would expect for the style. The flavor is dominated by banana with little room for malt or the spices usually associated with the style. The wheat driven acidity is definitely present, and the ale finishes with a tart, lemony note.

Cloudy peachy color with a moderate foamy head. Wheat and yeast nose. Sweet wheat and mild malt flavors. Mild floral hops and a touch of bubblegum. Lacks spiciness of a true hefe, but a solid somewhat clean wheat.

Bottle: Pours a light hazy yellow color, light head, average lacing. The nose is very strong with chunky yeast smells, but not the sweet ripe banana and dusty clove that I’m so fond of, it’s a flat dull smell with coriander and dung notes. The flavor is a bit lacking, doesn’t have the hop or the sweet hop, just a thin wheaty body and an average forgetful finish. Not quite where it needs to be.

Draft @ Ruth McGowans, Cloverdale, CA. Pours a hazy pale yellow/orange color with a small white head. Has a wheat malty citrus and banana aroma. Sweetish wheat malty citrus flavor with some hints of banana. Has a sweetish wheat malty finish with hints of citrus in the aftertaste.

Pours hazy golden with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of spicy florals, heavy clove, citrus. Tastes citric, floral, spicy, clovey, with a pretty smooth and crisp finish.

A hazy weizen with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, a lightly sulfure banana aroma, with rotten eggs. In mouth, a rather light weizen with crips malt, light fruity notes, light bodied. On tap at brewpub, August 27 2009.
