One of the best beers I’ve ever had. I can’t say enough good things about it and every time I drink it, I’m reminded of how good it really is. It has the perfect amount of carbonation and goes down smooth. I love the banana/citrus aroma and taste.

Classic banana clove aroma. Sweet and silky smooth. Excellent cloudiness. Very good.

Rerate: Unbelievable banana nose and falvors - the right mix of sweet and slight citrus sour, hefty body - unfiltered - excellent, and much fresher than I suspect my first sample was. Among the top German Hefes in the land. The following is from way back in April, 2002 - and I obviosly know ABSOLUTELY nothing about whaet beer. ------Very Belgian wit-like. The nose on this is sooooo sweet, way way down. For hours I could drift in and out of consciousness with that smell wafting over me. Also sweet flavors, very grassy, as others have mentioned, a good bit of banana. Solid, and I don't know much about wheats. I'm fixin' to learn, however...

Simply terrific. Smooth and fairly mild, this beer smacks of the German yeastiness and wheatiness that makes a German wheat great. I’d like to see how it stacks up against some of the all-time great wheats, like Hacker-Pschorr Weisse. It’s somewhat citrusy and a touch sour with little spiciness. Light in color, like a Hoegaarden.

Banana and wheat malt aroma with esters in the background. Almost a lemon color, hazy, with a white sticky head, and some action. Banana and a bready wheat grain malt taste with a hint of butter in the background. Light bodied, slight butter and watery/resin feel, with lively soft carbonation that seems to be krausened. Very drinkable this sixer will be gone shortly.

Served w/lemon in glass. Light yellow but nicely hazy. Substantial banana. Soft going into mouth, nice soft body, yet not insubstantial. Broad flavors of banana, yeast, low spice component. Well done. Refreshing and yummy. (on tap at 21st Amendment)

On tap at the brewery. Typically hazy yellow-amber, it was served with a wedge of lemon on the rim of the mug, and despite this managed some foam retention. What can I say about the aroma, it smelled like a German hefeweizen. Nothing out of the ordinary, but that is the selling point. The same with the flavor: yeast, banana, bubble-gum, and spice all balanced around a crisp and clean tartness. Creamy texture with crisp carbonation. Sudwerk does a great hef, rivaling just about any imports that you can find in the area. Nothing mind-blowing, but I appreciate the authenticity. I’m not always in the mood for the style, but on a hundred degree summer day in Davis, this hit the spot.

From tap, pours out a cloudy light blonde with a foamy white top that had faded before arriving at the table. Nice aroma of sweet banana and citrus. The taste follows suit with banana, clove and citrus. On the tongue, the beer hits with a bit of spiciness from the high carbonation and finishes smooth with a slight bitterness. The is a nice refreshing weizen. I would order it anytime.
