| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 13, 2007 Draft. Copper color with an off-white head. Citrus aroma with light pine. Citrus, slight malt, pine, grass flavor. Medium body. Lingering citrus, caramel, and pine. Low bitterness for an IPA, but better overall than I’d heard. Nik925 (305), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Great aroma on this one. Good hop taste, but the bitter is a little much. Very different from the San Diego style IPAs I have been having lately, much more upfront sweetness and crazy lingering bitter. Good, but old school, ?, maybe...Will call it good for what it is. timfoolery (484), California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 21, 2007 On tap at Sudwerk. This brew is an excellent example of the genre. Very hoppy, strong brew that doesn’t let up and gives a strong aftertaste. Very good... comparable to Sierra. Taverner (876), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 1/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2008 Very bitter and refreshing. Full of bittering hops with not much in the way of florals. Still, there are some. It lacks the dankness of a truly great IPA, or the pure floral outburst of an outstanding IPA. The nose is biscuity with the small amount of florals in this one. Not very balanced - not much to chew on either. SamGamgee (1465), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 17, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Amber with a lasting head. Not very aromatic, with some earthy hops and toasty malt. The flavor is a dry, toasty malt flavor with plenty of bitterness and not too much floral or fruity hop flavor. Alright, but not one of their better beers. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 11, 2007 Draft at Sudwerk. Clear light copper color with a white head. Malty aroma with an almost liverish yeast smell. A malt forward English style IPA. Nicely bittered but with little hop aroma. The strange yeast character carries over into the flavor as well. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 19, 2006 3. Litre on tap at the brewpub. Distinct caramel, nutty, malty aroma which has some piney and grapefruity hops in the nose. A little spicy hoppiness is also detected. Hops seem a bit subdued, though, but are quaffable enough. Mild-moderate hazy, rusty orangey-copper color with nice lacing and a creamy off-white head. Sweet, sugary maltiness to start. A bit too sweet and underattenuated. Aggressive juicy hops follow this. These hops have earthy, dry, citric, and grapefruity flavors. The sweet, sugary malts and the dry hop profile of tis makes this beer taste off. If they would have let this ferment more, it would score much much better. Lubiere (4551), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 30, 2009 An amber IPA with a thin creamy white head. A rather strong butterscotch aroma, wiht light c-hops. In mouth, a crisp malt with light British hops, very mild and boring. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, August 27 2009.
