SamGamgee (585), Santa Cruz, California, USA Aug 17, 2008 12oz bottle purchased at the brewery. Pale straw color with a lasting, fluffy head. The aroma has lots of floral and spicy hops, with fresh dough as well. The flavor is first and foremost bitter. Lean and dry in the malt department; the spicy, herbal hops dominate. A nice German style pilsner; lean and hoppy. Super refreshing on a hot day, but the lack of malt robustness lets you down a little when you want some more substance to chew on. badlizard (1519), San Diego, California, USA Feb 15, 2008 350 ml bottle from Bevmo. Light yellow with a fizzy white head. Faint malty slightly fruity aroma and taste. timfoolery (361), California, USA Dec 21, 2007 On tap. Not very impressive as far as body or flavor. This brew was lightly carbinated and very smooth. It was ok. DTM (390), Winters, California, USA Dec 21, 2007 On tap, part of the 10 beer sampler. Light color, slighty hoppy, but not much to it. awaisanen (1157), Irvine, California, USA Dec 10, 2007 On tap at Beachwood BBQ. Crystal clear, pale golden colored pour with a frothy layer of brilliant white head. Gentle aromas of herbal and floral hops liven up an ultra clean bready pilsener malt base. No DMS, making the true characters of the pilsener malt really shine through. Light bodied, crisp, refreshing mouthfeel with a sizzling carbonation. Well attenuated and exceptionally balanced between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Bready, doughy malt up front, followed by a refreshing finish of herbal hops. Dry, lagery finish. Perfectly hopped, and wonderfully clean. It’s difficult to find a good fresh pilsner that exhibits zero DMS, but this one does so marvelously, allowing the pilsener malt to shine through wonderfully. Flavorful, quaffable, refreshing, clean. Awesome pils.
