Commercial Description:
Light in color but rich in character, Sudwerk Pilsner is brewed with pale two-row malt, and Hallertau and Tettnang hops of the highest caliber. Pale straw in color, malty, with an elegant bitterness and a fragrant hop aroma.

On draft. Pours a clear golden with a well formed white head but very little effervescents. The aroma is spice and grass, light biscuity malts. Body is med. light with very low CO2 for the style. The flavors are on the hoppier side; again spice and grass. The finish is dry but shows a great deal of oxidation. I would like to try this bottled.

12oz. bottle. Pale yellow-gold color with a medium sized rocky white head. Grainy aromatics with tinges of spicy vegetal hops. Bitter, spicy hop nose gives way to a grainy, somewhat husky malt flavor. Clean, crisp profile in the finish is marred slightly by a stale bread element. Mouthfeel is light, fairly dry.

Bottle. Pours amber yellow with a bubbly head and much carbonation. Head reduces as carbonation exits. Smells a bit chemically with lots of fragrance. First sip awfully bitter but in a good way; goes down real easy. Very light on the palate. Nice and smooth overall. Refreshing.

.3L on tap at the brewpub. Crisp, grassy, vegetal-like nose with a mild doughiness present. Fair enough. Transparent blonde color with a large, frothy, whitish head and lots of lacing. Crisp, slightly spicy and grassy hoppiness to start. Middle has an interesting astringency to it with a bit of breadiness. Mild spiced hops make their presence again in the finish. A nice and refreshing beer.

Bottled. Pours a medium golden color. Slightly creamy grain aroma. Slightly bitter and malty. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Slightly sweet with some hops and grains. Slightly grassy flavor. Bitter finish. Good pils.

12oz bottle poured a bright golden color with a thin white head. Subtle hop aroma with a bit of citrus in the nose. Flavor is pretty mild, but not bad for a pilsner. Lagunitas Pils is still my fav but this was not bad. Good crisp, fresh aftertaste, I hope to try it at the brewery someday.

A fine example of what a good pils is all about. To start, the aroma was probably the weakest part of this beer, as it clocked just barely above average with a light malt aroma. Nothing too strong or offensive, but still light. Appearance was a clear yellow with nice carbonation. Mouthfeel was crisp and medium-bodied with a clean finish. Flavor was nicely balanced with a hoppy bite, grainy, grassy and the all tasty malt. Definitely worth it if you can get your hands on this. Nicely crafted guys.

Large white head topping a light yellow body that exhibits a slight haze. Fresh lemony hop aroma. Good bitterness with a solid malt balance. Smooth and well done. Thanks to droopy49 for the chance to try this one.
