Aroma is pungent, cardboard, and lightly sweet/fruity. Starts fruity sweet and then very quickly goes to a moderately strong odd bitter finish. Dry and light to medium bodied. 5000 (2455), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2004 The name is very fitting for this beer, since it has a sugary taste and finish. Poured with a nice head which quickly dissipated. It smelled like honey to me, which I think intensified the sweet, sugary taste. I think it is too sweet for a session beer, however the one I drank tonight was pretty good. I would try it again, but only one at a time. It was a little TOO sweet/sugary! | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 26, 2004 Updated: Sep 13, 2005This is supposed to be an old African beer recipe. I’m not sure exactly how I feel about African beer but judging by this stuff, it probably wasn’t too good. Clear yellow color with hardly any head. The aroma is lagerish, with a light yeastiness. Taste is malty with a light, funky bitterness. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jul 26, 2004 Golden in color with a small white head. Aroma and flavors of butter and grainy malt. Thin and almost flavorless. KAggie97 (2470), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Jul 23, 2004 This beer tastes like it was filtered through a rusty pipe. If not for the saxophone on the label, this beer would have little or nothing going for it. Blech. Volgon (2489), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 8, 2004 Hazy orange with a small white head. Orange peel and yeast aroma with some grass, medium bodied with lively carbonation. Starts and ends lightly bitter. Dogbrick (2864), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 8, 2003 Not sure how this made it down to City Beverage in Winston-Salem, but whatever. Pours a lightly hazy pale gold color with a medium thin bone white head. Lightly effervescent. The aroma is somewhat hoppy and a little metallic. Light-bodied and rather crisp with equal parts hops and sweet malt. The finish is on the bitter side. Overall this beer is barely above average and nothing memorable.
