Another deliciously hopped beer from Winterfest. Massive head on this orange beer with a strong citrus nose. Very bitter body and not as sweet as I’d feared. A very good offering.

Cask drawn during the Winterfest 2008 in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours a semi-hazy light golden orange amber brew with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of mostly grapefruit zest, some pine with a hint of multi-grain malt and some citrus character. Taste is medium bodied, quite bitter with flavors of grapefruit character, some light white pepper, citrus zest and a touch of butter. Finish is quite bitter with a grapefruit zest aftertaste that lingers long after the finish. Not quite the sweetness of an Imperial IPA but would score very high as a regular IPA.
