Commercial Description:
Summit Extra Pale Ale is not a beer brewed only for beer snobs. Just the opposite. It’s a beer for everyone to enjoy: construction workers, stock brokers, farmers, sales people, clerks, teachers, lawyers, doctors, even other brewers. Its light bronze color and distinctly hoppy flavor have made it a favorite in St. Paul, Minneapolis and the rest of the Upper Midwest ever since we first brewed it back in 1986.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Skyview. Thanks! Pours a bronze color with a medium frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malts and faint bitter hops. Taste is an odd earthy, bean like hop note. Some citrus as well. Medium bodied.

This isn’t bad. It’s not that great either. Pours amber with off-white head. Flavor is bread, malt and finishes on a bitter note from the hops. Falls under the "Decent Pale Ale" category. As it warms I can taste notes of corn in there. Kind of a buzzkill.

Bottle from my friend Ian. Clear light copper pour with a thick white head. Malty aroma with a hint of earthy hop bitterness. Flavor is light malt, slightly biscuit/dough with a touch of hop. Decent session beer.

I find this beer very underwhelming in the aspect that it does have some malts and hosp, but the finish gives a bland tap waterish taste that is relevant with every sip

The aroma is hoppy with a citrus type hop. The malt is very strong too giving it a nice balance. The appearance is amber gold with a small but foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma with a nice herb-bread like taste. The palate is smooth but thin. Overall this is a good beer.

Tap at Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis, MN, pre A Christmas Carol. Pours a lively amber with a nose of buttery roasted nuts and autumn harvested hops. Flavor is roasted floral hops with a slight grapefruit finish. Average mouthfeel, but nice and tingly. A solid, sessionable beer.

light amber pour with a thin white head. nose is slight hops with a rather malty background. good thickness with a very smooth hop flavor. nothing too crazy here just a decent pale ale with a clean fruity finish.

Bottled, pours gold-bronze color, small-ish head. Sharp but hoppy flavor.
