Commercial Description:
Summit Extra Pale Ale is not a beer brewed only for beer snobs. Just the opposite. It’s a beer for everyone to enjoy: construction workers, stock brokers, farmers, sales people, clerks, teachers, lawyers, doctors, even other brewers. Its light bronze color and distinctly hoppy flavor have made it a favorite in St. Paul, Minneapolis and the rest of the Upper Midwest ever since we first brewed it back in 1986.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of caramel, floral hops, alpha acid, and some vegetables. Poured copper/amber in color with a small tan head. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly bitter. Tastes of caramel malts, floral hops, herbal hops, and and a hint of corn. Medium body. Sticky texture. Average to lively carbonation. Bitter hop finish. A decent APA.

Though not a particularly exceptional beer, this is quite a fine choice for good grilling weather. It is crisp, clean, and bitter but has a refreshing quality to it. Best very cold.

Pour is light golden with aroma of light hops. Taste is of spice and strong hops. Has a bit of a bite but is drinkable. Not bad. Probably not worth a special purchase but however is a drinkable brew.

Slightly off aroma of mild hops and latex gloves?!. Mild hop presence, not complex. The fact that it does not have a big hop bite makes this a mid level very easy to drink beer. I’d rate it as a GOOD "lawnmower" beer.

Tap - Groveland Tap. Summit’s flagship beer. This stuff is on tap everywhere in the Twin Cities. Considering how widespread it is, it’s surprisingly decent. Clear amber color, minimal head. Light bodied, somewhat dry. Mild malts and a dry light hop finish. Another good Summit session brew.

Pours a clear honey amber with just a hint of white head. Aroma is lemon and hops. Flavor is of malts and hops. Body is light with a bit of carbonation. I am not a fan of Summit’s EPA and IPA. Not impressed by these two beers, and I wouldn’t go out of my way to get them.
