Sweet, hoppy and crisp. Off-white head with slightly hazy, dark gold in body. Foamy head stays at 42 degrees. Palate of malt and hoppy bitterness. I first had this back in 1988 and still proud to call this Minnesotan ale. doubelknv3 (568), Illinois, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2007 Bottle (12oz). Clear refractive amber with gold around the edges, very small head. Pleasing aroma of cereal grain malt, light sweet citrus, slightly pungent grassy hops - hint of apricot. Taste is solid if mild PA - lightly toasty grain, slightly sharp herbal hops, not much fruit - clean finish, moderate increase in bitterness in the finish over time. Very light body, solid carbonation, mild astringency, quick finish but a decent sharp/dry light bitter linger. Pretty good. averyblund (19), Michigan, USA

Summit is a great local for Minnesotans and well worth the price which is premium but reasonable. Far better than some of the junk in the same range. Typical Summit quality and thats a good thing mnstorm99 (26), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2007 Pours with a nice very white head, which slowly fades to an uneven layer of thin foam on top. This clings a bit to the sides of my Summit glass as the beer disappears (a bit too rapidly). Nice golden-copper color, very clear.
There is a light hop aroma, with no trace of maltiness in the scent.
I like the mouthfeel that the strong carbonation gives the beer. This makes up for the lighter body. It is light but still has enough going on. Somehow, even thought the beer is both hoppy and lighter in body, it comes accross as balanced.
There is a prevalent hop bite up front which compliments the carbonation very nicely. The hoppiness is slightly citrus - no spice or pine flavors. Again, no maltiness in the flavor.
The hops in the aftertaste are still present, but less so. More of a straight hop bitterness (not citrus, floral, spicy, pine, etc).
