Head duration is excellent with decent lacing. Flavor is mild with some caramel sweetness and a bit of hoppish bitterness but a faint finish. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 4, 2006 Draft. Decent head with a sweet aroma. Head fades quickly. Flavor was good at first bu then mellows out as the beer winds down. Nothing too flavorful and just a decent beer. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 4, 2006 Thank gawd for average brews done so well. Maybe I like my IIPA better and maybe I gravitate to barleywines, but I’m from Texas and stupidity reigns. This is your average beer done very well. or at least up to my standards, as skewered as they may be. Were it available it would be in my arsenal of beers to grab daily. Thanks Doug and Charles. linkolnlogg (94), your home, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 1, 2006 Updated: Aug 24, 2006pours a deep gold-orange colour with a light and fine bubbly head. Smell is lightly fruity with a distinct hoppiness and a definite odour of grains. Taste is light upon the palate and the body consists of hop bitterness balanced by a strong grain flavour/texture. Has a midwest feel to it for sure. Leaves a grainy/hoppy taste on the palate and is lively going down. Not much complexity or character but a good basic ale... | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2006 This is a better than average American Pale Ale. Here in the twin cities, it is everywhere and reasonably priced. Good stuff. undsioux7 (561), Cologne, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2006 Updated: Nov 20, 2006bottle. Amber pour with lasting small white head. This has a lot more pronounced malt then other pale’s I have had. It was just decent.
Re-rate: On tap and for some reason it was much, miuch better. No skunkyness at all. Nice hop aroma and taste with a good malt balance. If it was like this all the time, it would be my session beer! tennisjoel (951), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Bottle. Red amber pour. Small white head ring with good lacing qualities. This is the first ’real’ pale ale I ever tried. At the time it was bitter, but it sure opened my eyes to better beer and quickly became a favorite order as this is available at almost any MN bar, at least in the twin cities. It’s the flagship beer in the Summit line. Hoppy grainy aroma with a good malt backbone. More malt in this pale ale than most. However, that does not detract from the beer. A good flavor...slightly thin but not thin enough to get me disinterested. The Great Northern Porter is better, but this one aint bad. A good order when there’s not better beers available. kyzr (1132), Belgrade, Montana, USA
