| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 11, 2004 This brew sure looked good in the glass - a thick fluffy white head on top of clear orange; thick frothy lacing too! Why then did it have to taste so bland and watery? Yeah the malts were sweet and would’ve made for a creamy base, but seemed instead to be floating in water? Barely enough hop to balance the sweetness. At the end - tons of lacing in the glass and watery sweetness quickly disappearing from my tongue. 12samwicheatin (2), USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 3, 2004 What can I say, a good local (for me) beer that si an example of doing it correctly. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2004 Pours clear and red-copper with a white whisp of lacey head. Aroma of pine hops and sweet malts. Nice light but pronounced hops and smooth malts. A honey touch. Bitter and bold but not overdone at all. All in all, a very nice, smooth and well crafted beer. This is a great brew for washing down the trail dust and just enjoying the buzz. igel (196), New Mexico, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 2, 2004 An amber color (not very pale) with a nice starting head that diminishes quickly, and a good presence of lace. A hoppy aroma, initially, and then of bread and some caramel. Smooth mouth feel, a light (slightly sweet) taste with a dry finish. Not a very distinctive or memorable taste, but a good mouth feel, and fairly drinkable. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2004 This was better than the James Page I had only minutes before. The hop character was milder and the malt and yeast were able to shine through. Good stuff for a pale ale. Silphium (2144), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 24, 2004 Clear amber-copper body, medium off-white head. Nose of caramel, pine, and citrus. Toasty body with caramel, light fruit, pine, and grapefruit rind (but not overdone or of IPA strength). Rather thin-bodied and easy drinking.
