Sep 27, 2007 One of my least favorite beers from my favorite brewery. When they first introduced this last year as a special 20th anniversary brew I really enjoyed it, but their current incarnation tastes sweet and chocolatey - which is not what I expect from an ESB. Maybe it’s just the batches I’ve gotten, maybe there’s no change and I’m crazy

Sep 17, 2007 Amber colour with a white head. The aroma is faint hops and some maltyness. The flavor is of mainly malt and maltyness with a hop flavor in the back. Not much to do with an English ESB as such.

Sep 15, 2007 12 oz bottle. A random gift from my boss. Pours a deep amber colour with a thick rocky tan head. Persistent bead and a spritzy carbonation. Nice vienna/munich malt aroma. Light caramelly sweetness and a soft spicy hoppiness. Good balance of malts and hops. Low fruitiness and a very soft palate. Moderate bitterness. Nice caramelly character all the way through. A very lovely session beer.

Sep 9, 2007 I liked this a bit more when it was colder than when it was warmer than the "average" temperature at which I was drinking it. It’s only lightly hoppy, which is appropriate, and although it is a far cry from the English bitter experience, it does have a softer, gentler palate, although at first I thought it was going to be a bad Minnesota beer. Not bad, actually. Bottle.

Aug 23, 2007 Courtesy of SkyView, thanks Bob! Amber body, thin white head. Aroma is a light hoppiness with caramel. Taste is light caramel, with a little bit of a berry, light hoppiness, almost a faintness of chocolate also. Appropriate body.

Aug 7, 2007 Draught: Sweet aroma of floral hops, caramel malts, and berries. Poured amber in color with a medium-sized, rocky, off-white head that lasted a long time. Good lacing. Clear. Sparkling. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavor. Tasted of berries, blueberries, citrus hops, and light malts. Light to medium body. Thin, slightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Short, sweet, malty finish. Pretty good, but not really a classic ESB style.

Aug 3, 2007 Pretty sad bitter in my mind. Slightly malty aroma with some fruitiness. Flavour is a watery, malty exercise in average-ness. I thought this was supposed to be a bitter. Hops are basically non existent, leaving a flat and hollow finish.

Jul 28, 2007 Dark Amber Color with White Skin. Dry Sweet Aroma. Crisp, Sweet and Dry Malt Notes.. Hops Create a Lightly Fruity, Spiced Tang...Dry Overall and Definitly a Solid Summer Choice
