Some hops in the nose; black patent and crystal malt smell; milk chocolate. Very smooth, but a bit thinner than I’d like. Burnt malt taste all the way through. Finishes too acidic for my liking. valpoaj (363), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Pours nicely...deep body; minimal head. Coffee and burnt nut aroma. Flavor is a bit too burnt/roasted for my liking...some hops near the finish with some lasting bitterness. Not my favorite porter by any means... lumberjack (178), Michigan, USA

Aroma is mainly malt and a hint of coffee. Palate is light for the style. Flavor is initially bitter, then sweet. Roasted malts and coffee are present in the finish, along with some hops. Not the most complex lager around, but pretty good nonetheless. zeke626 (303), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 9, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with excellent carbonation and a thin, mocha-colored head. Aroma is rich with smells of caramel and chocolate, roasted malt, nuttiness, and coffee. Taste is deceptively light and effervescent with flavors of chocolate and coffee moderated by a somewhat more crisp hoppy finish. An odd but enjoyable porter with the rich flavor of its class, but a much lighter body and crisper flavor. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
