Commercial Description:
Summit Porter is very dark, but lighter-bodied than you’d expect, with a robust, malty character and a delightfully sweet finish.

Pours pitch black with brown foamy head. Fragrant; aroma of chocolate covered coffee beans. Heavy roasted malt, lots of bitter coffee, a little nutty & some dark chocolate. This is a good porter...sweetens as it warms, lots of coffee flavor, medium mouthfeel. Nice winter warmer.

12 oz bottle from a mixed 12 pack. Pours very dark brown with an amber hue. The head is light tan and deminished fairly fast. Smells of coffee and chocolate. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, and malt. Lightly bittered finish. Very thin on flavor, but what little flavor thats there isn’t bad.

Pours deep brown. Aroma is of roasted coffee and chocolate. A similar roasted flavor with the addition of malt/caramel. A smooth finish of floral hops. Pretty well balanced but seems a little thin.

Pint on tap at Jak’s Tap in Chicago. I have not had anything by Summit and really did not know what to expect with this porter. I was pleasantly surprised. Received this in a standard pint glass with a deep brown color with a very frothy one finger width tan head. The head almost reminded me of a nitro pour from a Guinness or Beamish. The aroma was VERY roasty with a strong smell of coffee and chocolate. The taste consisted of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate that left a very pleasant aftertaste. The only thing that I did not particularly like about this porter was that the mouth feel was a bit light. Overall, a very good porter!

Pours a deep black colour with a big fluffy tan head. Lots of caramel, toffee and chocolate flavors. Very rich mouthfeel. One of the nicer porters i’ve had recently.

Mush better than I expected. Classic porter taste. Burnt malts and tamed floral hops. Very well balanced. Black color with a tan head. Pretty thick texture.

Black pour with huge creamy head, yielding big roasty aroma. Flavor intesly malty, yummy roast and black malts. Medium body with thick texture. Excellent porter.
