More clear than the average hefeweizen with golden color and moderate diminishing head. Flavor is good but not among the great German hefes. Sweet with mild bitter finish. A good beer for Sunday afternoon or if you want to drink several hefes in one sitting. A very drinkable and refreshing beer. guzzler67 (1286), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 19, 2006 Bright, clear (until the sediment is poured from the bottom of the bottle), yellow/gold appearance, small head, very little lacing. Wheaty aroma, lemon accents, mild esters, on the fruity side. Metallic taste with some spicyness. Light-to-medium bodied, moderately carbonated, although it lacked the lush mouthfeel of its German origins. Short lived finish. jaymobrown (1360), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2006 Golden color. Very light and citrusy. A minor amount of malt and wheat flavors. Mostly a floral, hop, lemon, grass beer. Had this on draft and it went really well with the food I had: an avacado sandwich. A good summer beer. Firemoose15 (542), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2006 Bottle. Aroma nice, hefty wheaty. Poured a hazen golden. Flavor was quite tasty, wheat and yeast combine nicely. Palate was easy with a simple light sweetness to it. Overall it was nice on a nice hot day. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2006 On tap: Pours a med. cloudy golden.with a smaller than ussual white frothy head. Aroma is restrained but there is some clove and vanilla. The body is excellent. Light CO2 but excellent fullness. Flavors show all the right things without any burnt rubber or rotting bananas. The finish is med-sweet with a slight lactic tang. eve (240), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2006 I enjoy this style and thought this was a fair example, although it poured clear! But the taste was heavily yeasty with lots of tang and spice. I wouldn’t call this a subtle hefe but it was brash in a way I enjoyed, especially for the price. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2006 Pours a clear yellow color with thin white head. Aroma is of citrus, wheat, lemon, and sourness. Flavor is the same with a finish of sourness and banana. Not a bad hefeweizen, but it’s still better from Germany. tennisjoel (951), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Updated: Jun 22, 2006So I will say this doesn’t quite stack up to the german hefeweizen’s I’ve recently rated, but then again, the german’s know how to brew this style very well. The appearance of this brew is interesting. When first poured, it looks more like a pale lager with a clear golden head with active carbonating bubbles. However, in a about 30 seconds the body changes into a cloudy color, true to the style. This is a decent beer, however, there are 2 things which prevent it from scoring higher, IMO. One would be the fact that it is filtered with very little yeast in the bottom of the bottle. The other would be that the taste seems slightly harsh and not as refreshing as other hefe’s I’ve had.
