Commercial Description:
Summit Hefe Weizen is brewed with a high percentage of malted wheat, then a small amount of authentic German weizen yeast is left behind to help maintain its brewery freshness. And that’s what accounts for Hefe Weizen’s unique cloudy appearance.

disgusting. my friends paid $5 for a pint of SN summertime and i paid $5.50 for 12oz of this shit. got so fucking ripped off. it tasted heavily of urea. i would say urine but then people think you’re just being mean. it tasted of urea. urine too. was perfectly clear, not at all a hefeweizen. tasted a lot worse than it smelled.

Very flat in texture yet it had a lot of head. Pale yellow color. Very little aroma, slightly citrusy. Flavor is boring and lemony. Not good.

One of the more surprising beers I have tasted. Took a tour of the Summit Brewery (which I highly recommend, and at the end there is samples, and not small ones at that) and this one stood out the most. This is the kind of beer to sit out on a hot summer day with a lemon in it. Very good.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a large frothy white head that diminished slowly and produced little lacing. Good wheat banana aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Moderate wheat and banana hop flavor with an average finish. Good drinkable brew.

This is the first beer I have had from this company. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy pale golden color with a large white head. The aroma is sour wheat and banana. The flavor is dry wheat and light malts with moderate banana and a hint of fruity hops. The finish is dry. Nothing special.

nice banana mixed aroma, not offensive in the least, thin, does not give the "full" feeling of other weizens. Would order again.

(01.17.06) 12 oz brown bottle purchased from DiCarlo’s, Mundelein, IL. Hazy golden yellow hefe with no discernable head. Soft carbonation. Spicy clove aroma. Light-to-medium bodied that starts with light malt sweetness with fruity and spicy clove flavor. Finishes dry with light bitterness. Rather thin and watery relative to its German counterparts but otherwise a good drinkable wheat beer.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with a medium white head. Citrus and banana on the nose but it was meek and timid. Flavors of slight banana and citrus/sour upon tasting. Not a bad hefeweizen, but just eh.
