Commercial Description:
Summit Hefe Weizen is brewed with a high percentage of malted wheat, then a small amount of authentic German weizen yeast is left behind to help maintain its brewery freshness. And that’s what accounts for Hefe Weizen’s unique cloudy appearance.

A truly great American hefe. Lighter than its German counterparts but that’s not necessarily an automatic bad thing. Citrus aroma, slightly murky, very tasty.

Bottle: Light citrus and banana aroma. Pours an ubelievabley pale and transparent yellow. I would go as far as to say Bud Light is darker. Very small white head. Does not resemble a hefe in appearance what so ever. Light citrus and banana flavors with barely a touch of spice in the flavor. A touch of smokiness hides in the background.

Good on tap but doesn’t stand up to classics like Hacker Pschorr when from the bottle. If you really like Hefeweizens you’ll like this markedly domestic one. I, however, don’t care so much for beer that needs the addition of fruit--hold the lemon/orange.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one, while it didn’t look like it was going to be the best hefe it did deliver on flavor, it seemed to be more of a balance of fruity and wheat more than like capitol and New glarus with their over welming wheat flavor, not the greatest but better than expected

This is a fairly light and thin (uncloudy), lagerish "hefe" that’s semi-mistakable for an American Hefe. There could be a bit more yeast, funk and unfilteredness here, IMHO. There really needs to be a tad more malt, me thinks. Light herbal hops. Not my bag, but others may like it.

good and palateable, perfect amount of carbonation. Easy and light flavor allow for generous consumption, nice that it is not overpowering.

A hazy golden color with a respectable white head, this has agrassy aroma with a hint of yeast fruitiness. There’s a bit of a citric flavoring, as well. A clean drink, good for hot summer days.
