Jul 3, 2004 Very nice clear, yellow color with a thin head. Good aroma of wheat and citrus. Clean taste of wheat, yeast, lemon, and hints of the malt. Excellent offering from Summit.

Jul 1, 2004 Pretty good but not stellar summer weisse. Imagine the BEST Hefe Wiezen you ever had and create a light version. This is it. Cheap. $10 a twelver and well worth it

Jun 21, 2004 Tripled my Minnesota Beverage consumption in one evening. Tells ya I haven’t had allot of Minnesota beer. Porter was very good. Hefeweizen is also a solid beer. Sweet, citrusy, occluded, yeasty and very thrist quenching. After the day I’ve had today this is a perfect wind down the day beer. Again, very pleased with the summit brewery, look forward to sampling more of the products in the future. Thanks Slikwily!!!

Jun 2, 2004 Clear hefeweizen isn’t what I want to see. Pale clear gold color. Thin white head. Smells OK, bubble gum/banana, coriander. Tastes bad, citus for sure, soda water flavor, with an odd aftertaste. Not very good at all. Easy to drink but why do it?

Jun 1, 2004 Pours cloudy, hazy orange with slight head. Nose is very citrusy with orange and lemony notes. Tartand slightly malty. Finish is clean and refreshing.

May 18, 2004 On tap at the Crescent Moon Alehouse. It was pint night tonight and the featured beer was Summit Hefe. Served in a you-keep-it 22 oz. lager glass with the Summit Hefeweisen logo (nice). Absolutely beautiful beer! Pale yellow that is completely cloudy with no chunks of yeast. Complete suspension that remains throughout each glass. Glorious white head with exceptional lacing. Fine citrus and ester flavoring. No harshness to the hop flavor. Either it is perfectly balanced, or under-hopped. The accent is on smoooooth! I could drink a bathtub of this today!

Apr 17, 2004 Cloudy golden color, hazier up at the top, with an impressive head, 2" thick, white as a cloud and fluffy as one, too, with a slow, lacey crumble. (Perhaps the Aventinus glass I poured it into aided in this.)
Aroma is overall soft and subdued, but full of weizen character, spikey with citrus, spicy, but mellow and dry.
Rich, tangy, grainy, mouthfeel at first, with a tasty, rewarding finish. Body is light/medium, and smooth. Lacking complexity, but high on the drinkability, with just enough flavor.
A brew I return to every summer, over and over.
