Commercial Description:
Summit Hefe Weizen is brewed with a high percentage of malted wheat, then a small amount of authentic German weizen yeast is left behind to help maintain its brewery freshness. And that’s what accounts for Hefe Weizen’s unique cloudy appearance.

2004 draught. Pale yellow with some slightly darker orange tones, quite clouded, good white head and lacing. Smells highly citrusy, more oranges than lemons and plenty of wheat. Flavor is coarse grainy wheat, dry, sour yeast and hops but well balanced (at the last second) as the lightly sweet sugars come in and save the day. Very tastey and well-done, though seems more an American Wheat than a German, little if any esters, no banana. Dry wheat astringency on the very end.

Great nose, fluffy white head. Appearance looks dissapointing. Its too clear to be a hefe-weizen...therees some filitration or something. The taste follows along...hints of a wheat beer but there's not much to it....

Draft Nice frisky weizen flavor. Not as much banana or spice flavor as expected for this style, but that just lets the fizzy wheat taste take the stage. A good cloudy body, thought its yellow is a tad darker than expected. Thin head, grainy lacing. I couldn't resist squeezing in the lemon slice, but that ain't no crime with this beer. Highly carbonated as expected; in fact, almost "seltzer water" gassy. Another surprise to be found at the bar in Marshall Field's basement.

Nice citrus and yeasty aroma without the excessive banana-clove thing that I know is appropriate for the style, It's just not my thing. Good head and lacing. Nice hazy gold color after giving it that final swirl from the bottle. Lemony, tart, refreshing brew. An Americanized version of a weizen, one that is very drinkable.

Nice pale yellow color with a nice head. Good acrid floral aroma with some fruit ester thing going on. Smooth crisp and light flavored beer. clean and refreshing texture. Good beer for a hot day.

A crystal clear gold color as it sets in my glass, the head is impressive in size, spumescent in texture and the color a bright white, lace is a fine sealing sheet. Nose is musky, sweet, citrus clean, with the start sweet and nicely malted, top a bit thin in feel. Finish is stinging in its acidity, hops apropos to the style, a drinkable beer and one that would be a nice Arid-Zona Summer Beer.

A really light Weiz beer. I thought it had some nice color though. Little head when poured.

Not too bad it had the right bananna-clove feel. No bubblegum though and the slight lack of sweetness was missed. Slightly hoppy for a weizen. Good if you can get it cheep though.
