Clear yellow with a hazy hint to it and little to no head. Smells of old lemon and no real funk or character is in the nose at all. Taste is as bland as the smell. This just doesn’t seem to be a good or fair representation of the style at all. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 1, 2008 On tap at Delilah’s in Chicago. Pours slightly hazy light yellow with very small head. Smell is lemon, wheat and cracker like. Taste is a bit thin, very bubbly body, and is lemony and citrusy with cracker like wheaty flavor. More like an American Wheat than Hefeweizen, but a slight spiced flavor does come out, however. Lacking in body and some flavor, but still very refreshing, and easy drinking. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Tap - Groveland Tap. Hazy yellow color with a minimal head. Flavor is dry wheat, a bit of banana, clove, and a hint of citrus. Medium bodied. Pretty solid wheat, one of the better Midwest common availability versions. Narnad (720), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 15, 2008 Overall a decent beer. Pours with a nice head which diminishes. Beer is very turbid and a golden banana yellow. Aroma is very citrus and clove smelling. Flavors of lemon, cloves and a slight banana taste shin through but kinda missing a bit at the end of the flavors. Tripplebrew (500), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 29, 2008 Pours a very hazy/cloudy honey yellow. Very little head---close to none actually. What is there is white and quickly dissipates. Aroma is of what and lemon zest with hints of sweet spice (cloves). Flavor is wheat/bready/ grain with definite citrus notes---especially lemon. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Feb 18, 2008 Pours a typical cloudy yellow with a medium frothy head. Typical Hefe Weizen nose, grain and sour malt with a hint of herb. Flavor is right on the money! Sweet and sour with that huge wheat flavor. A little bit of a wine and citrus. This is one very drinkable beer.
(On a side note, I sample all beer by the bottle or glass. I don’t spit any out and no mater how bad the beer is I drink it all. So Im giving this beer an extra point based just on the fact that I wanted another one or four.) shrubber85 (2995), Wallhalben, Germany
