Commercial Description:
Horizon Red Ale – an emerging American hybrid ale that crosses the boundaries of styles. This red-hued ale projects an intensity of complex hops – yet allows the drinker to experience the balance and character of the malt. Floral, dry, hoppy and satisfying. Beautifully dry hopped, Horizon Red Ale will be considered a classic.

A nice brew. Nothing spectacular, but certainly nothing run of the mill either. Highly sessionable and one of my favorite releases from summit.

12 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy lt. brown color with a medium off white head. The aroma is fruity and mild caramel malt providing a moderate sweetness. There are slight hints of pine. The flavor is generally lacking. I get grassy, earthy hops with a bready malt base. There is a general bitterness to the finish. I didn’t get much in the way of fruits or caramel from the nose.

Pours dark brown with a reddish hue and afrothy tan head. There is a spicy dark malt aroma and a slightly funky caramel flavor with a fair amount of hop bitterness.

Thanks to ericandersnavy for this one. Pours a clear reddish copper with a frothy 3-finger beige head. Light roast caramel aroma with mild floral hop. Near medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is roast caramel with a touch of citrus, but mostly floral. Seems astringent. Decent drink.

Bottle- Amber ale poured with small off white head. Aroma of light hops and sweet light citrus. Bit fizzy, earthy and dry. Dry bitterness lingers in this one.

Hop aroma is strong - both citrus and grass in the nose. Bold, tasty hop flavor as well; as others have pointed out, the malt does not balance the brew fully, rendering it somewhat empty. A bit too much carbonation for my tastes -- makes the beer bite back a bit, but it’s a thin, somewhat disingenuous bite. Very pleasant red hue. On tap.
