Dark red color with a large head. Strong biscuit aroma. That would be the dominant flavor as well, along with a very dry but fairly clean grain. Light floral hop taste towards the end. Not bad.

Pours a red amber in color with a small, lightly foamy head. Aroma is a heavy floral and citrus, almost a minty catnip note with some light caramel malt. Flavor is very nutty, light toasted caramel malt up front moving into a citrus and spicy hop middle, ending with a very grassy, citrus ending. Density is pretty thin with a moderate carbonation. Overall the aroma and flavor is a bit more hoppy than the average amber but it also makes for a great, semi-cheap beer to have on a regular basis. If your looking for flavor, look no further.

(bottle) Pours clear amber with a white head that retains nicely and leaves little wisps of lacing on the glass. The aroma was very dull, with the caramel malts being the most dominant aroma, with other aromas of breakfast cereal. The hops are here, but in a subdued fashion, with hints of pine and faint orange or grapefruit. The taste also begins with sweet caramel malt, but it quickly yields to a finish of pure grapefruit rind bitterness. There’s no complexity, just pure bitterness on the finish, and it is quite lengthy. The mouthfeel is medium. It is surely a drinkable beer, but nothing really stands out here. This beer is the perfect definition of a 3.0.

33 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA. Pale amber colour pleasant sweet and hoppy aroma. Thick texture, mellow bitterness, long dry spicy finish.

A reddish amber ale with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, a lightly nutty caramel with light British hops. In mouth, a very nutty malt with light herbal fruittyness. Some metallic hops notes. Medium bodied. On tap at Jerry’s, Chicago, May 16 2009.

I was extremely pleased with this addition to the Summit brews. The infusion of "red" and somehow even more hopps into my favorite EPA has created a very tasty new favorite for me. I highly reccomend this beer.

Decent brew that is more of an IPA than an Amber Ale. Pour is golden copper red with a thick, creamy, off white head. Aroma is fairly complex of grapefruit and pine hops and caramel malt. Flavor is bitter but not overly bitter. Mouthfeel is thick, and heavy and finishes nice. Overall a solid brew but a little dense.

I really like these new breeds of Ambers has a fresh peppery, piney hops ,not what you would expect from a red ale of old., typical caramel malt also evident, taste again a bang of spicey hopping,pine/grapefruit,dominating the blend,malting all backing , really an ipa ,just darker,wonder if the bottle is as good.
