Commercial Description:
Horizon Red Ale – an emerging American hybrid ale that crosses the boundaries of styles. This red-hued ale projects an intensity of complex hops – yet allows the drinker to experience the balance and character of the malt. Floral, dry, hoppy and satisfying. Off the charts stinky bud aroma at first, by mid glass the caramel starts showing some girth. Reddish amber hue with minimal head. Slightly watery. Lots of hops - citrus and slight pine - intertwine with loads of caramel, a little reminiscent of a fall beer, with some extra crystal sweetness. The cascades show up at the swallow. Overall it’s a fine drinking beer.

The aroma is very hoppy with citrus, pine, caramel malt, yeast, nuts, and grains. The appearance is deep amber with a brown hue. The head is foamy. The flavor is like the aroma with quite a robust bitterness. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s good, it’s pretty much an IPA.

Bottle. Medium bodied with a full head. Aroma is hoppy with some light caramel and a good amount of malt. Quite flavorful with a lot of the same characteristics of the pale ale which they are famous for. Good brew but not too unique comparatively.

12 oz bottle–pours a rocky/foamy light tan head and amber color. Aroma is pungent/herbal/resin hops, medium malt-peat. Taste is pungent/herbal/resin/lemon hops with some bite, light/medium malt-peat. Nice hops and varied from medium to light body. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out.

Smells and tastes of floral lavender and hops. Really only one major taste, which limits the complexity of the beer. A very pleasant and enjoyable brew, but not a super-sophisticated brew.

Bottle from belmont Party. Poured a clear reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasted and had excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy malt and earthy hop aroma. Medium body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex session brew.

Pours a very dark ruby color--almost like a nut brown. The flavor too is kind of nut brown, malt with just a hint of hops at the end. It’s a solid beer.
