| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2009 Pour is copper red with a 2 finger off white and creamy head. Earthy hops (cascade would be my guess), with some caramel malts. Smells similar to the EPA. This is actually pretty tasty. Kind of similar to the EPA, but with some more malts. A nice effort from Summit. Now if they try a double version of this brew, I’d be pretty excited. hogan873 (333), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2009 Beautiful amber body with reddish hues. Nice lacing results from the off-white head. Complex is a good adjective for this brew. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus, and floral hops. Fairly smooth and creamy with a bitter, dry finish. Sweel malt with caramel notes up front makes way for a mildly bitter citrus and pine finish. Almost tastes more like an American Pale Ale, but a good beer nonetheless. tekhna (111), California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Updated: Jun 23, 2009For some reason what throws me off about Summit beers is their astringent bitterness. This is no exception. I was told this comes in at 80 IBUs. I like hops, but it just wasn’t a pleasant bitterness for me. Fantastic color. There doesn’t seem to be much late-addition hop in this beer, which you might expect. I think I’ll give another one a shot tonight and rerate. Petrucci914 (584), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Pours an amber color with a medium off-white head which leaves a web of lacing. Aroma is earthy and floral hops, rich caramel malt. Taste is resinous hops up front, caramel malt, with some rich chocolate coffee-type taste. Very good. Juelze (906), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Pours a moderate red color with thin light tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is intense resinous and citrus hops. Taste is intensely hoppy for an amber ale, not that it’s a bad thing as it’s well balanced out by the malt profile. Finishes clean and sharp. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2009 Pours amber brown with a medium off white head.
Aroma is nice piney hop and toasty caramel malts.
Flavour is pretty bitter, almost more of a hoppy American pale ale than an amber.
Toasty slightly burnt bitter medium malt body and herbal-citrusy hop.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 1, 2009 Updated: Jun 7, 2009CASK: dirty red/brown pour, mild head. Malt and citrus hop on the nose, but mild. Taste was a bit flat - might be due to cask delivery. Would like to try it pushed.
Update: tried it on C)2 - hop profile comes out, flavor seems a bit better. JaBier (1233), Capital City, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2009 Sampled at the Summit tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 5/14/09. Clear reddish amber pour with a medium tan head. Crisp and grassy hop aroma with a good malt balance. Earthy hop flavor with a malt back. The best of their catalogue, which is good seeing as it’s the newest offering. Hopefully they will continue to improve.
