There are leafy, resinous, citric elements but this is certainly no hop monster in US terms. Which may be a good, or bad, thing depending on your perspective. The mouthfeel is smooth but still quite firm. Very drinkable but perhaps a little underpowered for the style as it didn’t seem to me to have a lot more presence than the Extra Pale. I think it is intended to be more in a British IPA style (whatever that is). Shown on the brewery website as 6.4%, whereas we have it on the site at 5.8%. Caertainly didn’t taste 6.4%.

Aroma is sweet to fruity and citric. Flavour is clear fruity, with a spicy touch. Finish is malty on top of a mild bitterness. Very enjoyable. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2007 Deep amber color out of the bottle with a fluffy ivory head that left sticky lace on the glass. Subtle nose of bread and some piney hops. Light Caramel sweetness, some bready malts, and a bitter orange rind hoppiness. I would not call this an aggressive IPA. Pretty ordinary beer. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA

Flavor is an hop mess, heavy malt, very bitter. Decent but seems like a messy beer. sloth (1687), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 1, 2007 Pours a medium sized tan head with good retention and a stringy lace. Color is mostly amber with a bit of copper and gold hues, nice appearence. Nose is faint, caramel malts, grainy with faint citrusy notes. Body is medium with a soft feel on the palate, coating. Dry malty flavors up front, lightly bready and grainy, faint grassiness and citrus. Finish is fairly dry and lightly fruity. A malt dominated IPA. Thanks fly! theisti (1693), Leawood, Kansas, USA
