| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 17, 2005 I’ve started to like hops a little more than I used to. The hops are definitely present in this brew, but not too overwhelming, and so a rich pleasant maltiness also comes through. I agree with the others who say its not quite like a typical IPA, i.e., not as dominant with the hops flavor. I happen to like it the way it is. Has a nice thick head, and a rich consistency. Very enjoyable, high quality brew.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 7, 2005 Thanks to Heemer77 for this beer. 12oz bottle, enjoy by Nov. 10. Served in a lager glass at 45.5°, straight from the cellar. The beer pours copper tinged red with a small off white head. The aroma is wildflower honey, mild citrus, and earthy rye-ish. The initial taste is bitter, there is no malt flavor then bitterness, it just dives right into bitterness. The flavor is earthy and woodsy with some floral hints at the end. The aftertaste is tingling bitterness and earthy, maybe some more rye. Mouthfeel is average. Not sure I like the hops varieties used. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 3, 2005 12oz bottle - pours a dark amber with a short offwhite head - Aroma is malt and basement. Hardly any hops in the nose. Surprisingly enough the flavor is very similar. Musty caramel malts. Not much hop flavor at all. Palate is medium bodied and not very thick. Not what I expect when I open up an IPA that’s for sure.. 5000 (2634), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 12, 2005 Bottle: Orangish amber, slight haze, large rocky off-white head, nice lacing, few streams of carbonation.   Musty malt nose, subtle hop, not as aggressive as I would have thought.   Stronger hop presense on the tongue than on the nose.   Mild malts, slightly earthy and musty.   Body is moderate to full, mouthfeel is fairly average.   Finishes with an soft astringent bitterness that lingers, subtle sweetness emerges as well.   Tiz alright, but seems fairly average.   Almost more like a robust American Pale Ale to me.   Thanks Eric!

Pours reddish amber/copper with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of bready malt, hops, rye bread, citrus. Tastes bready malty, grainy, with subdued hops and some finishing citrus notes. Medium palate, and a semi-dry finish. This one reminds me of Weyerbacher IPA, and is one of the drier IPAs I’ve had. CharlesDarwin (1860), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 1, 2005 pours light brown with a tiny off white head. Weak malty aroma. Small hop presence. More of the English style ipa. Good malt balance. Not a hop monster, that’s for sure. BuckyinMinn (18), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA
