Incredibly crisp hops flavors, but with fewer aromatics than say Anchor Liberty or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. This is a really refreshing beer that’s hard to beat with Thai green curry or sitting outside reading on a summer afternoon. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2005 A fluffy, cloud-like head left decent lacing from this deep copper-colored beer. Moderate hop aroma and flavor... not too overbearing. Some cereal and wine notes in the aroma (the breakfast of champions). A fuller mouthfeel than their Extra Pale, but still on the thin side. Light astringency in the finish.

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 12, 2005 nice red color with no head. leaves a little lacing. barley any aroma what is there is sweet hops. unfortunatly the taste is stale and a little hoppy. there is a bitterness that seems too harsh and a bit rotten. steview (902), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 6, 2005 snifter / a boring IPA that i probably wouldn’t have guessed as being an IPA, but it’s still able to be done and done with. yeaup, i’ve got an empty snifter! okay: old hops, probably; bready, a hint of vanilla, caramel, and a bit of grapefruit, perfume. i think i need a fresh one. as old as this might be, it’s still smooth and enjoyable. props. howie (549), DeForest, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 6, 2005 Muted hop aroma. Reasonably bitter, but the hop character is flat and boring. OK for a session ale, but disappointing as an IPA. antisnobJP (275), St. Michael, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 30, 2005 Bottle. Deep amber color with a fair white head and lingering lacing. Sweet malt and citrus hop aromas. Not an all out attack of hops like most American IPA’s- has some nutty Munich-like malt character and some caramel also. Bitterness is moderate but flavor has plenty of sweet citrus and floral hop character. Must be Goldings in there, very tasty. One of the most underrated IPA’s in my book, kind of like a cross of English and American IPA’s. And more flavorful than their Extra Pale Ale, IMO. SuIIy (1486), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 28, 2005 Pours dark amber, transparent with thick head. The head setles rather quickly, but leaves a very nice lacing throughout. Smells almost dry and tart. Citrusy taste, lemons and orange. A bit of doughy tecture to the palate.
