Who da thunk from Summit? I liked this brew a lot and would buy this as my everyday brew if I could. BeerAteHer (384), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2005 Nice blood-orange color with a stiff orange-tan head. Aroma is very tame for an IPA though the typical floral hoppiness is present. Flavor is much less dominated by hops than the typical IPA - the malts show through well with elements of orange and walnut. Hops kick in immediately on the finish. Summit’s mildness is more like an English pale ale and is one of my favorite IPA’s. cathcacr (588), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 18, 2005 Very desirable appearance, midway between Hop Devil and Arrogant Bastard. Slightly macro-ey aroma. Flavor is certainly distinctive for an IPA, quite nutty and mild. Thin to medium build, without pronounced curves. Would be more than adequate for a "session" IPA. Nice head retention and titillating lacing as we proceed further down the glass -- a real plus. On the whole, well-done. 7/10. ChrisPants (317), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 6, 2005 Copper body, head retension. Fruity hop aroma (citrusy, that is). Body tangy, smooth, and fantstic mouthfeel mergin into bitter hop finish that stays (but not overstays) its welcome. I’ve had it before, and I’ll try this slightly above-average pale ale again. thegreenrooster (1829), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 29, 2005 Pour is almost a red with a nice white head. Aroma is hops with some citrus. Flavor is hoppy with some caramel. Not the best IPA and not near the worst. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 25, 2005 Beautiful rich amber brown with a thick white head. Soapy hop nose with some funkiness. Med weight with a dry bitter finish. Rich hop flavor, with soapy undertones but in the end hollow in the middle. Not bad but nothing to support soapy hops. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 27, 2004 12 oz bottle. Big puffy lasting head tops this clear maple body with touches of scarlet. Lots of caramel, orange marmalade, hint of floral hops in the nose...grapefruit sourness dominates the initial mouthfeel, and some of it carries through along with caramel and perhaps a touch of oak. Fairly sour/bitter finish, quite dry. Like most Summits, decent but unmemorable. jazz88 (2237), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 25, 2004 Bottle. A dark reddish brown color with a laced off-white head. A hopped, mildly fruity aroma. A full dry bitterness with a good hop profile. Missing a deeper malt base but otherwise enjoyable.
