Commercial Description:
Early German monks created “bock” beer as a hearty beverage that would help sustain them during their Lenten fasts. The first bock beers were dark, but soon came “blonder” styles such as maibock. Maibocks have a rich, malty, full flavor. And, since our first brewhouse was from Heimertingen in Bavaria, we’ve honored that heritage by giving the name to our first lager beer.“Bock,” by the way, is German for “male goat.” It doesn’t make sense to us either.

Bottle, sampled at Tank’s Taproom Spring Beerfest. I enjoyed this one. It pours a clear amber color with a foamy, off-white head. Nice malty aroma and flavor followed by various spices. Good, hearty aftertaste yet very easy to drink.

Pale golden with a respectable yellow-white head. Malt, grain and spice aroma. Sweet pale malt taste with wheat germ, cloves, and hoppiness. Pretty decent.

12 oz bottle–pours a foamy off white head and gold color. Aroma is lemon, Euro-skunk, light malt-bready, yeast. Taste is sweet light malt, slight bitter-herbal/spice hops, alcohol. Lots of effervescence. Not clean as a bock style lager should be. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out.

Bottle... Clear golden lager with a small, fizzy, white head. Sweet aroma of honey and white pepper – a touch medicinal. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. Leans just a hair toward the bitter side of balance... moderate sweetness; medium bitterness. Sticky, bittersweet finish.

12 oz bottle from TR Spirits. Pours a mostly clear orange with a smaller frothy bright white head. Aroma starts off all generic cereal malts and as it warms some honey sweetness and white grape emerge. Medium to lighter bodied with slightly strong carbonation and a watery mouthfeel. Flavor is all malts with mostly cereal and doughy grains coming through. Nothing complex here but easily drinkable.

Bottle. Pours a hazy blonde with amber hue. Smells very malty like a red lager, with a head that is a soft foam and off white. Tastes malty sweet, aromas of corn, grain, roasted malt, and caramel. Very good aftertase is nice, sweet and leaves you wanting another sip. Very little hop flavor in the mix, but not very prominant. Pretty good stuff.
