| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2009 The color of this brew,alc/vol,head and carbonation make it a true maibock.
A good thing there is some local competition for a maibock this year.
Summit wins the 2009 shoot-out.
Almost on par with the original bomber
release:)Very impressed with the labels
staying on the new style bottles.
Value priced in todays market,no lack of malts in this brew.Highly recommended natejgood (190), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 25, 2009 The beer pours a light golden color with little to no head. It is extremely clear with few bubbles. The main aroma is honey and caramel. The flavor is a bit nondescript. It has a hint of honey at the finish, but other than that the flavor is pretty flat and bland. This beer is probably an easy drinking lawnmower beer, but I wouldn’t recommend it outside of that. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 21, 2009 I do find myself liking the Summit beers most of the time. They come in at a pretty decent price; if i’m strapped for cash and i still can’t find an SN I buy a summit which the EPA usually does the trick. Sometimes the styles can be a little off, this one was good for the most part, but i love my maibocks just a wee bit heavier, and a little more biscuity. Either way- Pours a dark amber colour with a medium sized off white head. Aroma is nice- caramel, a little burnt scent, possibly a little nutty at times. Taste is nice, smooth, again some candy like flavours- not too sweet, but just a little hint of something syrupy on the roof of the mouth. Finish lingers on and makes me wonder if there should have been something else to feel. Again- good beers, but maybe could use a little work. DalzAle (510), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 19, 2009 Bottle. Yellow pour, nice carbonation and a good malty aroma. Flavor of caramel, alcoholic malts and finishes strong. A good, and relatively cheap local maibock. blutt59 (2167), Dallas, Texas, USA
