Commercial Description:
Summit Grand is the first pilsener brewed by Summit Brewing Company. Developed by our Brewmaster Horace Cunningham, Summit Grand follows the tradition of Bohemian Style Pilseners. This style refers to the many great pilseners that originated in what is now known as the Czech Republic. Our Summit Grand is brewed with select malts and both domestic and imported hops. Golden in color, with just the right amount of body, Summit Grand is truly the perfect beer for any occasion.

Pours crystal clear very light pale yellow with a sudsy white head. Aroma is very grainy pale malt with light mustiness. Medium body that is kind of smooth then turns grainy and carbonated. Starts with pale malt and corn flavor, smooth and rich for a pils. The finish still has a thicker body and some saaz hops showing up. Decent brew.

Pour is a bright golden with a white head. Aroma is a malty sweetness. Flavor is nice and hoppy with a sweetnes. Finish is watery and bland though. Starts off nice but ends badly. Good effort but nothing stands out in this for a good pils.

Gold color with a decent sized white head. Nice saaz aroma with a mild hop taste and a dry finish. Very good fresh.

Draught at Isabella’s in Dubuque, IA. Clear golden color with bubbly white head that didn’t leave much lace. Pleasant aroma and flavor of sprucy hops, fresh ceral grain, and a touch of honey. Delicately sweet on the tongue with a crisp, clean finish.

Sampled from 12 oz bottle at Jungle Jim’s on 10/18/2006... Summit Grand has a clear, golden color. It is gernerously carbonation and has a white head. The aroma is sweet light malt and some floral-type hops. The flavor is light malt with some sweet creaminess to it and a gentle tangy hop finish. Light to medium body, average mouthfeel. This Pils was average and really didn’t do it for me...

Didn’t care for the aroma, but the taste isn’t too bad. Not a whole lot going on but not offensive either. Re-rate: Not sure if its the same beer or not, but the one I had said pilsener on the bottle and was much better this time around. Clear gold/yellow with a small white head. Nice mix of grainy malts and slight citrus hops. Not bad at all.

Lingering bitterness. Golden color. Medium body. Aroma on light side for a Pilsner.

Pours pale yellow with a smallish head that dissipates quickly. Has a light malty sweetness. Probably doesn’t help that I’m rating this right after drinking their winter ale, so I’ll give them bonus points because I’m an idiot.
