Commercial Description:
Summit Grand is the first pilsener brewed by Summit Brewing Company. Developed by our Brewmaster Horace Cunningham, Summit Grand follows the tradition of Bohemian Style Pilseners. This style refers to the many great pilseners that originated in what is now known as the Czech Republic. Our Summit Grand is brewed with select malts and both domestic and imported hops. Golden in color, with just the right amount of body, Summit Grand is truly the perfect beer for any occasion.

Bottle at Village Pub, KY. Poured a dark amber with a moderate white head that was mostly lasting. Solid sweet balanced aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Same moderate balanced malt and hop flavor with a short soft finish.

Tap at Grey Lodge. Served warm. Flat pale gold with nearly no head. looks like apple juice in the woodchuck cider pint glass. minor clean appley aroma and fruity apple berry light hop flavor. not extremely good, in fact gets very boring after about1/3 pint, the last 1/3 I force myself to finish - bland and with some stale flavors, lacking any liveliness to the palate.

Golden beer with strong foamy head. This Euro style pilsner has a Saaz bitterness and creamy flavor. Lighter beer that’s a representation of the Bohemian Pilsner style.

Pours light yellow with a huge soapy head that calms down pretty quickly -- still good retention and some minimal lacing. Very pleasant soapy, slightly piney aroma -- there are some hops in here. Nice bready malts in the flavour. Some pronounced bitterness -- finishes crisp and dry with the hops predominating. Pretty good.

Original rating, 3/21/06. Bottle, "Enjoy by Mar 10." All right. I’m looking for that reliable, everyday, easy-to-find great pilsner beer to keep on hand to introduce others to the better beer world. Is this it? Well, it slipped a bit past its prime, but let’s see: Opens with a nice German hoppy smell that coiuld be close to skunk, still pleasant. In a Bitburger pils glass, I get an appealing gold body, few bubbles, and a stiff white head. Nose in the glass gets an occasional whiff of lipstick, but I can’t pin it down (no, my wife doesn’t drink out of my beer glasses). Taste is lightly toasted malts like an English muffin. Those hops the BMC folks forgot to use are here, leaving a bitter curdle at the throat. Hearty yet refreshing. Packaged light lagers are always problematic, but this one makes a very good at being as good a pilsner as I’ve found.
New 12 oz. bottle, 5/30/06: This bottle is dated "Enjoy by Feb 24," This bottle is either older or very fresh, but it came home in a hot car trunk. However, most of the off tastes I described before are missing, leaving a more refined brew, but a tad less mouthfeel. I think I can stand by this original rating.

Bottle. Pours bright yellow with lots of bubbles and white head. The aroma is bread and mild hop leaves. The flavor is assertive at first with quite a bit of toast and an ashy bitterness that fades to a clean, grainy finish. Crisp.

This beer had a light yellow color with excellent lacing. The head was bubbly and very carbonated. A good lighter beer with a touch of flavor.

Aroma was grainey and slight hint of hops. Taste was field grain and wet hops, although not of the Saaz variety ,the kind you would expect out of a brew calling itself a bohemian pilsner. drinkable but not upper catagory
