Commercial Description:
Summit Grand is the first pilsener brewed by Summit Brewing Company. Developed by our Brewmaster Horace Cunningham, Summit Grand follows the tradition of Bohemian Style Pilseners. This style refers to the many great pilseners that originated in what is now known as the Czech Republic. Our Summit Grand is brewed with select malts and both domestic and imported hops. Golden in color, with just the right amount of body, Summit Grand is truly the perfect beer for any occasion.

Light goldish yellow, with small white head. Sweet grainy nose, with light spice in the background. Med weight with a light sweetness and drying finish. Light corn flavors without much else other than faint bittering on the end.

Aroma is quite soapy, almost like lanolin (don’t know if this is good or bad but I don’t find it unappealing). Nice thick, clinging bubbles, and shallow head with thin lacing. Flavor is bold with strong elements of citrus and unripe melon. There is a very strong hop presence which is very enjoyable, hoppier than others in its class of which I am aware. Yet the malts are not totally subdued and lend a crispness of their own. Aftertaste doesn’t vary much from the flavor, perhaps being a bit bready and slightly metallic. Overall a very drinkable beer - I may finish the entire 6-pack - and I am pleasantly surprised with this product of a home-town brewery.

Golden with a little head. Light floral citrus nose. Almost a hint of sweetness there. Bitter, crisp, and clean. Good hop presence. I think this is just a step from being a really good pilsner.

A nice pilsner. Light malt aroma with some floral hops. Good pilsners always look good when they are in a tall glass and watching the bubbles going up the side, especially when it has a nice white head on top, which this does.

I really enjoyed this pils. Very floral hops and balanced malts. Golden and pale like a good pils should be. Nice and peppery yet subtly sweet with a lemony smoke character. Nice linger to the hops. A very simple and unassuming beverage that seems to be saying "just take me as I am, fresh, crisp and refreshing". Very drinkable.

Pour was a crystal golden with little to no head. The aroma was mild with a hint of hops. I was pretty buzzed by the time I got to this one, but it was quite tastey. I enjoyed it.

Clear straw-colored body, big puffy off-white head dissipating rapidly. Grassy hops and cerealy malt aroma. Not bad-tasting at all, with biscuit and cereals backing the grassy, zesty, hops. Bitter finish. One of the better bohemian pilseners, a style I’m not particularly enamored with.

Foggy yellow-orange, highly carbonated with a gluey head. Sugar cookie aroma. Sweet tarty flavors, biscuity with absolutely zero bitter finish. This is missing a closing flourish, but it’s OK anyway.
