Commercial Description:
Summit Grand is the first pilsener brewed by Summit Brewing Company. Developed by our Brewmaster Horace Cunningham, Summit Grand follows the tradition of Bohemian Style Pilseners. This style refers to the many great pilseners that originated in what is now known as the Czech Republic. Our Summit Grand is brewed with select malts and both domestic and imported hops. Golden in color, with just the right amount of body, Summit Grand is truly the perfect beer for any occasion.

On tap at Grandma’s in Virginia, Minnesota. Medium gold appearance, little white head. Buttery and fresh lake water aroma. Smooth clean taste, kind of buttery; yet very crisp, slight hops in the back end. Very full bodied mouthfeel for a lager.

A clear, sparkling light yellow-gold beer. Thin white head, that left too soon. Nice soft malt and hops. Straw and citrus. Excellent balance. Maybe too balanced for style (very slightly lean on hop character), but very good nonetheless. An excellent effort to show the lager-heads across the Mississippi a thing or two

Nice gentle malty aroma with a soft touch of hops. Delicate, but interesting aroma. Color is pale gold, carbonation is medium with a decent fluffy white head. Nicely flavored beer. Light and refreshing. Good malt profile up front. A slightly spicy hop note in the finish. It’s clean and smooth. Bigger malt and hops than any macro, but light enough to drink on hot summer days quite easily.

This is a decent pilener. Beats the hell out of most macro lagers. Has a light gold color with very little head. Aroma is muted with some grass and a touch of hops. The flavor is relatively light. Has a little bit of orange and some flour. A surprisingly full mouthfeel. Not at all bad.

The least appealing of Summit’s line. Nothing distinctive here. Not offensive, just bland. Poor representative of the style. I’ve tried it several times, on tap and in bottles. It never has improved. They should stick to ales.

Golden with no head. Nothing special, just bland with some bitterness. Isn’t bad, but has nothing to really set it apart.

12 oz bottle, at The Fireside in Chicago. Light apricot aroma, more malty and sweet than grassy/hoppy. Light color, light flavor, pretty bland all around, what can I tell you?

Golden Coloring. Hops. Bitter Taste that seems to be the Summit trademark. Not a terrible beer to drink in quantity
