Commercial Description:
Summit Grand is the first pilsener brewed by Summit Brewing Company. Developed by our Brewmaster Horace Cunningham, Summit Grand follows the tradition of Bohemian Style Pilseners. This style refers to the many great pilseners that originated in what is now known as the Czech Republic. Our Summit Grand is brewed with select malts and both domestic and imported hops. Golden in color, with just the right amount of body, Summit Grand is truly the perfect beer for any occasion.

12oz bottle. Pale gold in color with decent fizzy carbonation. Faint aroma of cereal grains, plastic and light hop notes. Thin and watery on the palate. Grassy hops, cardboard malt. Bland and unimpressive.

Tap - Groveland Tap. Pale yellow color, fizzy carbonation, minimal head. Light bodied. Somewhat dry. Grassy hop finish. This is a pretty straight forward clean drinking pilsener. Nothing amazing but good for the style.

Pours a rich golden color. A very drinkable beer, yet one with grain, honey, and some hop flavor to it. I enjoyed this beer.

Found this one bottled as part of a Summit multipack at Binny’s in St. Charles, Illinois. Clear, bubbly medium yellow pour with a persistent fluffy white head. Very slightly sweet and flowery, canned corn nose. Chalky, grassy and slightly bitter, this beer is similar enough to most every other European style pilsener I’ve ever had. Biting, dry finish. You can do worse.

cloudy pale gold color with no noticeable aroma and thin white head, this is a thin, watery pils but no real bitterness. Drinkable but boring.

(bottle thanks OSLO) Pours out clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is weak, but what is there are some grain, light honey, and faint hops. Taste is quite sweet of caramel with some bitter hops on the finish. Medium bodied. Not a bad pilsener, but hardly memorable.

[Bottle] Pours clear golden with a nearly nonexistent white head. Aroma is very bland with a lot of grain and less hops than I was expecting. Taste is all malt with only the faintest of bitterness from the hops. Medium mouthfeel. A fairly bland beer that is quite drinkable but below average in most respects.

Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Aroma is mainly hops. Flavors are floral and hops with balanced carbonation. Surprisingly decent pilsner.
