bsp77 (191), Minnesota, USA Oct 28, 2009 Updated: Oct 29, 2009Poured from bottle into water glass at work. Pale cloudy yellow with moderate head and nice lacing. Orange, lemon, clove, coriander, pepper and maybe even other spices. More complex smell than many Wits but less sour notes. Tastes very similar to the smell. Orange and coriander are noticeable, as expected for a Wit, but lemon and pepper play a major role as well, likely due to the addition of Cardamom. Just barely sour, and might even taste slight banana. For me, this is just so much better than Summit Hefeweizen, their other summer seasonal. Pretty high carbonation, light to medium body, and fairly smooth for the style. This is the most refreshing, easy to drink Wit I have had. Really commend Summit for making something so different than what they usually do. Plus the addition of Cardamom is fantastic. sfhodense (554), Odense NØ, Denmark Oct 1, 2009 Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is fresh wheat and spicye. Flavour is wheat fresh spice, cardemom and coriander.. BigBeer45 (676), Troy, Michigan, USA Sep 15, 2009 Bottle, has a cloudy orange gold pour with a white head, aromas of vanilla, faint malt and spices, lemon citrus, and a touch of pepper, flavors of wheat, pepper, light bread and little sweetness, there was some lemon citrus on the tongue, medium mouth feel with some creaminess on the palate, there was more spice than I prefer but other wise a good Wit. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Aug 23, 2009 Bottle. Very light pour, barely with any color at all; nice head. Decent wheaty head. Drinks with a mild witbier character, but very much middle of the road -- whatever spices are here are very well hidden. I think even the most casual drinker would enjoy this -- clearly a swipe at Blue Moon. (#3648, 8/23/2009) JMerritt (1313), Macomb, Illinois, USA Aug 21, 2009 Bottled, courtesy Narnad. Very slightly hazy dark golden with a small, fizzy white head. Interesting nose: a lot of spice (clove, pepper, coriander) & mandarin orange - overall, it is really pungent and floral. Flavor is heavy on the biscuity malts, the spiciness is much more subdued, and the orange citrus sweetness is a little more focused towards the end of the profile. Moderately carbonated with a dry finish. Top notch. Much better than anticipated. demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Aug 13, 2009 12 oz bottle: Aroma is surprisingly malt and nutty characteristic, wheat, a little bit of lemon and a whole lot of spice. Appearance is a cloudy orange/ golden color with a thick white head that linger around for quite a while. Taste has got a definite wit characteristic with a lot of spice thrown in there. Coriander, wheat, a light citrus note are all incorporated. Palate has a lingering tingle on the tongue and quite lively and carbonated going down. Overall, I wouldn’t get it again. It’s decent, but there is something about this that I just don’t like. Cheers! jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Aug 11, 2009 12 oz bottle-pours a foamy white head and hazy yellow color…swirled the last few ounces in the bottle, now cloudy yellow. Aroma is coriander, grain/wheat. Taste is coriander, grain/wheat with some sweetness, yeast, some hops to balance. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out. mcjay (301), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Jul 29, 2009 Slightly hazy golden color with a medium off white head. Mild aroma of wheat. Spiced flavor with hints of citrus and hops. Tastes similar to a hefeweizen.
