Commercial Description:
Summit Scandia Ale is a Scandinavian interpretation of a famous Belgian ale with spice notes of cardamom, coriander, and orange. Scandia Ale pours cloudy with a white head and has a refreshing and pleasing flavor profile.

Bottle thanks to Skyview. Poured a hazy duller golden with a short cap of white head, rising carbonation, and some floaties. Aroma was of sweet peppery spices, orange peel, and very lightly toasted wheat. The flavor was heavy on the spices across the middle with building orange and pepper notes toward the back. Decent flow to it with a little tackiness on the back-end.. a little lighter/thinner in body and this would have been very refreshing.

Nice looking pour, a hazy straw body, a continual stream of bubbles, and a tall & sustained pillowy head. The aroma seems a tad strong on the spices, the coriander dominating. It all balances out well in the flavor, a lightly tart wheat, some orange zest, a drop or two of lemon, and solid spicing. Nice refresher.

Bottle and served in my Hoegaarden tumbler: A cloudy golden hue with a long lasting white frothy head. The aroma has notes of coriander, cardamom, white peppercorns, orange zest, lemon peel, wheat, biscuit and other floral aromatics. While there is a slight note of citrus and bitters on the palate this beer is utterly dominated by the spice character, too much sadly. A nice sourness upon the finish but arrival is too late to save the day. At first I really thought "now this is a Summit brew I can dig" but alas it was no less messy than most of their offerings. This needs to be cleaner, sharper, and a tad less spicy for a summer refresher. (this from someone who likes cardamom!)

I thought this beer was an interesting interpretation of a Belgian White. Contained citrus and yeast notes that typify a Belgian White, but also had the addition of cardamom which made it slightly spicier. I thought it was an effective twist on a Belgian White.

Summit Scandia Ale 12 oz bottle Moderate pour in a goblet Recent brewing, absorbed 07/07 Poured a cloudy gold with an average white fizzy somewhat diminishing head. Smelt of strong perfume, flowers, light, anise, coriander, lightly toasted white bread, with a light to moderate orange touch. Taste was upfront moderate bitter grassy hops and oranges with a spice kick and some light sweet white bread malt followed by a strong bitter flowery yeast and hops kick on an average finish. Palate was light bodied, lively carbonated, watery on a dry finish, slightly astringent. Overall, this feel like a Blue Moon clone, but a little bolder and complex. It’s like drinking a bouquet of flowers.

Bottled. Beer is cloudy, light gold with a small, white, frothy, quickly diminishing but mostly lasting head.
Heavily spiced nose. Aroma is malty with light notes of toasted grain; Hoppy with moderate notes of bright lemon zest, herbal floral; Yeasty with a light note of basement; Miscellany include a moderate/heavy note of cardamom, light/moderate coriander, light white pepper.
The flavor is moderately acidic, moderately sweet, lightly/moderately bitter with a long, moderately bitter, lightly acidic, lightly sweet finish. Bold cardamom retros.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
