Bright, burnished gold with moderate head and nice lacing. Very active bubbles continue throughout.
Aroma of semi-sweet malts with notes of apple and grass; fresh, spicy noble hops.
Just slightly sweet apple, pear and fresh cut grass, countered by a nice level of spiciness. Ends primarily with a spicy hop bite. Make sure to drink this fresh, as I am sure the spiciness will fade.
Moderately high carbonation, pretty smooth body, dry finish.
Very refreshing but with a nice amount of flavor. Finally, a Kolsch I truly enjoy. I would prefer this year round over Summit’s Pilsener.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Bottle, pours a pale gold body with a quickly dissipating white head. Somewhat skunky/funky aroma along with malts and faint hops. Flavor is similar although with a nice hop bite up front. Light mouthfeel with a watery palate. Lightly carbonated with a very dry finish. I could see this as a decent session beer. BustedFlat (553), Edina, Minnesota, USA

Pleasant grain and citrus aroma, transfers to the flavor with some malt and caramel notes way in the background. Fruity and easy drinking, a good representation of the style. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Bottle. I have not had a lot of kolsch, but I did like this one. Amber color. Medium carbonation. Crisp and refreshing, with some yeast. Hops are light but there are there. This is a very solid session beer. Skyview (4057), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 10, 2009 On draught during the Great Taste of Midwest 2009 in Madison, Wisconsin; available in 12-oz bottles at many locations in Minneapolis, St, Paul, MN. Pours a clear golden pale colored brew with an average sized off-white head that dissipates to a white ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, a hint of corn, honey and some flowery hops. Taste is light to medium bodied, flavors of golden grain malt, a hint of flowery and grassy hops some breakfast cereal and a hint of fruit. Finish is slight grainy, a little metallic with a mild bitterness that quickly disappears. Missing some of the floral aroma as the real Kölsch’s of Germany but still a decent summer session beer. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 9, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a clear honey amber color with a moderate white head and good effervescence. Aroma is mild but pleasant, with grains and malt predominating over a few hints of honey, spices, and floral hops. Taste is light but crisp, with a flavor of grain, malt, and a lot of minerality giving way to a finish of yeast and a mild indistinct sweetness. A refreshing lighter style of summer brew.
