Orange citrus and biscuity malt in the aroma. Comes off rather true to style for an American example, with a nice, fluffy, medium bodied malt centered body, quite well balanced with the delicate but ever present hopping. A hard style to nail and they do a really nice job. Some caramel malt tones in the aftertaste. All around an excellent beer. bsp77 (202), Minnesota, USA

Bright, burnished gold with moderate head and nice lacing. Very active bubbles continue throughout.
Aroma of semi-sweet malts with notes of apple and grass; fresh, spicy noble hops.
Just slightly sweet apple, pear and fresh cut grass, countered by a nice level of spiciness. Ends primarily with a spicy hop bite. Make sure to drink this fresh, as I am sure the spiciness will fade.
Moderately high carbonation, pretty smooth body, dry finish.
Very refreshing but with a nice amount of flavor. Finally, a Kolsch I truly enjoy. I would prefer this year round over Summit’s Pilsener.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2009 Bottle. Light golden color, medium carbonation and good malt and funk aroma. Flavor is light citrus, then some expected malt and finishes with an interesting (but good) bitter bite on the finish. I’m not generally the biggest fan of Kolsch style beers, but this was pretty good. badgerben (3610), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2009 Gold color with a thin head. Light skunkiness right off the bat, but it fades after some airtime. A light corn hit as well. Strong grainy flavor. Quite clean. A light honey sweetness and barely noticeable floral hops on the finish. Not the world’s greatest new beer, but this is a pretty solid and refreshing beer. Not sure if it’s like a Kolsch made in Koln, but I still enjoyed it. JCB (1799), Durham, North Carolina, USA

Lively and lustrous golden pour with the clean carbonation you’d expect. Crisp and slightly sweet aroma, with some hints of dry yeast things to come. Nice full mouthfeel and the beer lingers on the palate. Grain and moderate sweetness is there, but the beer has far more citrus and dry characteristics, especially in the finish. Enjoyed this. jstraw (777), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Poured golden with a medium white head. Light hoppy aroma. Taste has a nice malt base with floral hops present. Some bitterness. In general clean and easy drinking. Light beer with a little extra taste and bitterness. Solid summer session beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Have always like these German style beers. The combination of sweet citrus and sweet cereal grains just seems to work well. A nice surprising bitter hop and herb finish really completes this.
