Draft at Minneapolis/St. Paul airport. Definitely of the winter warmer style. Pours brown with smallish off-white head. Spice minimal here, which is good. British malts and mild hops. Some toffee and grainy malt. Mild sweet fruits. Not bad.

Dec 27, 2009 A clear mahogany color with a medium tan head. It has roasted malt and toast aroma. The taste is lightly sweet with a flavor of toast and nuts, then it finishes smooth with a lightly bitter aftertaste.

Dec 23, 2009 Dark brown color with some hints of ruby. Small tan head with decent lacing. Aroma is sweet malts and some bitter dark chocolate. The taste is quite thin - roasted bread/yeasty malts, a faint caramel sweetness, and some hop bitterness masquerades as a bitter chocolate (explains the aroma). Too much carbonation. Watery and a bit metallic - underwhelming and too simple for my expectations.

Dec 23, 2009 Not too bad at all. Not sure quite what an "English Strong Ale" is-almost sort of to a Porter but not quite? Most of the way there on the malts but not quite. Tasty, sessionable. Ok.

Dec 20, 2009 12oz shorty bottle. Deep brown-red-black with a big beige head. Dark sweet malt and maybe a touch of cinnamon in the aroma. Pretty nice actually. certainly not unlike Anchor OSA stylistically. The thick, sweet malt tones balance perfectly with the hops and spices. On the lighter side of full bodied, drinkable but full of depth and flavor as well. Really a tasty and respectable beer.

Dec 17, 2009 12 oz bottle from the Four Firkins. Deep red color, aroma is malty with a slight caramel note. Flavor is mostly hoppy with some roasted caramel coming through. Finish is bitter/hoppy.

Dec 2, 2009 On tap at Old Town Ale House. Pours dark brown with a red hue and a creamy light tan head. Aroma is rich roasted caramel malts and quite nutty. Some wood and I thought just a hint of smokiness. Flavor starts with a nice toasted bread and roasted caramel and chocolate malt. Some sharp earthy fig and cocoa bean. Mild bitterness in the finish but some sweet oatmeal creaminess lingers. Medium body and a zippy carbonation. very tasty winter warmer that is quite drinkable.
