Sun King El Gallo Negro Black IPA

Tap at MacNivens. Pours very black with minimal head. Nose and flavors are dark roasted malt, some caramel and a decent hop flavor kind of tucked away underneath. Very full flavor. I like the variety so far from this new brewery.

Poured from a growler. The pour is nearly opaque black with a good rich khaki head. The nose is a bunch of roast with a bit of tangerine trying to fight through. Flavor wise, we have a bunch of stouty roast with maybe some oats and some good bitterness. Nothing here says IPA at all. We are working on a decent stout though.
