Commercial Description:
Saison de Taffy is a Belgian Farmhouse Ale, often referred to as a Saison (say-zahn). This style of beer is traditionally produced by farmers with an array of crops from harvest.

Saison de Taffy is a mixture of barley, wheat and oats, that give the beer a rich malt character. There is a rich apricot flavor from the yeast and a portion of the mash was soured in order to accentuate the tartness that the yeast strain imparts.

Saison de Taffy is unlike anything you’ve had before and is a must try for anyone who loves wheat beers!

Another nice session brew from Sun King. Pours darker than most saisons, a deep golden color with an off white, almost tannish head. Aroma is nice and spicey, with hay notes as well. I was a little surprised at the smoke that found its way into the aroma...nice touch. Flavor is yeast, spice, clove, lemon, grass, and smoke. Missing the sharp bite that I like in saisons, but a great addition to the Indy scene.

Growler sent as a bonus from StFun, thanks Josh! Pours a clear dark golden with a orange tint to it. Light white head that disappears rather quickly. Nose is wheat, grass, peach, orange/lemon citrus, light spiciness, some pepper and some yeasty bubblegum notes. Slightly prickly dusty grass notes up front apple and citrus fruit notes then some peppery dry notes. Some light metallic hints going on. Not bad, but I prefer my saisons to be on the drier side.

On tap at the Bloomington Beer Festival. Poured a hazy gold with a thick and quickly dissolving white head. Aroma was very sweet with notes of candied fruits, Flavor was sweet as well, but there was a strong metallic taste.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a hazy uncarbonated light orange colored body and a fair lacing. The funky aroma was farmhouse and malt hop. The crisp semi-thick mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt and mild hops. An OK brew just nothing special.

Pour is murky yellow with some darker orange hues and a dirty white foam cap. Doughy nose with some light phenolic yeast character and a bit of a banana note. Same banana flavor but lighter. Doughy mouthfeel to a dry refreshing finish. I get a bit of lemon candy in the finish.
