| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 18, 2002 Bottled. Darkish brown, nearly opaque cloudy color topped with a decent quick-dying head; I got little lacing though. Nose is subtly malty with a hint of floral hoppiness. I thought the flavor pretty bold upfront, with some chocolate and almond nuttiness; kind of backs off at the end and the body could be more, but overall a nice effort. The only Stone Coast I picked up on my recent Maine trip, but I’ll try to find more. Merc (313), Pullman, Washington, USA

Malt nose with some floral undertones and to me just a hit of cocoa, full body, nice hop presence, but not overly so. Moderate carbonation and somewhat dry finish. Quite a good beer, thanks Venom! Excellent malt backbone of dry roasted nuts with some cocoa notes and fruity taste as well. Crisp and bitter balance adds to its charm. A nice brew that gets better warm.
