On the label in Chinese the description of the beer says that it is made with Saaz hops, a first for a Taiwan beer. I’m sure this makes it one of the few Taiwan beers with any flavor at all. Golden color, small white head that quickly disappears. Lots of carbonation. The hop character does come through in the aroma of the beer, slightly and it also seems to improve the flavor. The flavor is fresher than the standard Taiwan beer and has a tiny bite to it. I also taste a faint fruity, almost apple flavor, although the background is still the usual industrial malty sweetness, but the hops do balance it a bit, resulting in an aftertaste that is not half bad. This is actually drinkable.
