33 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium as La Botteresse de Noël. Pours dark brown with a reddish hue and a light brown lacing head. Aroma is roasted malt and some yeasty spices. Flavour is dried fruit with some light yeast note and roasted malt. Finish is nice lingering roasted malt mixed with a nice belgian yeats spice. Lovely.

Bottled@Kerstbierfestival, Essen. Pitch black colour, small beige head. Aroma is licorice and caramel malts along with some spices. Flavour is slightly roasted malts, licorice and quite wellspiced. Aftertaste has a little bit alcohol in it, otherwise wellbalanced.

From bottle at 13e Kerstbierfestival, Essen. Dark brown with almost no head. Spiced and sugary aroma. Complex spicy flavours: cinnamon and pepper on a caramel base.Short finish. Noticeable alcohol. All in all pleasurable, but not great.

(Bottled@Kerstbierfestival 2007, Essen) Dark brown with a small, mostly fading head. Grainy, dark malt and licorice in the aroma. Roasted-malty, licoricey flavor with some anise, orange-peel and other spices. Medium-bodied, smooth and medium-carbonated palate. Much like Ecaussinnes Ultrabrune, but with added spices. Very nice actually.

Bottle Kerstbierfestival 2007: Poured a deep black with a thin tan head. The aroma is honey and liquorice. The taste is fruit with that similar liquorice taste, finished a warm alcohol.

Dense but small beige head over ruby-red shot, very dark beer. Very perfumey, almonds, alcohol & higher alcohols, sugars and roasted notes. Human sweat, sweet malts, liquorice, a bit of cypress flavour and loads of dark malts. Very creamy, velvety texture, well-bodied & alcohol warming. Sweet and thick. Not bad, but not really great beer.

Dark brown color, steady creamy tan head. Yeasty, vegetably, a bit chocolaty aroma. Crisp, fruity, grape-fruitness in the flavor, also plumes and dates. Quite yeasty, maybe too fresh.
