Dark brown color, steady creamy tan head. Yeasty, vegetably, a bit chocolaty aroma. Crisp, fruity, grape-fruitness in the flavor, also plumes and dates. Quite yeasty, maybe too fresh. thewolf (5828), Kolding, Denmark

Pours deep brown, bordering on black. A fair, but rather fizzy offwhite head that settles as a millimeter thick foam. Heavy spicy aroma. Lots of cloves, coriander, sour-ish plums and cherries, chocolate. Some sweet caramel to back it all up. High carbonation, very prickly. Otherwise fine, and lightly dry mouthfeel. Nice flavours. Chocolate, light tart fruit, yeast, well-balanced spiciness with some coriander, cinnamon. Fine dryness with some cocoa-powder feel. Actually a very nice Christmas beer. bu11zeye (5635), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 24, 2007 Dense but small beige head over ruby-red shot, very dark beer. Very perfumey, almonds, alcohol & higher alcohols, sugars and roasted notes. Human sweat, sweet malts, liquorice, a bit of cypress flavour and loads of dark malts. Very creamy, velvety texture, well-bodied & alcohol warming. Sweet and thick. Not bad, but not really great beer.
